Oosterhout, December 2019
- The Estonian print company Kroonpress has
equipped their Goss M600 heat set press with Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC) press
automation. Kroonpress is preparing the recently acquired press for the future,
they want to keep the M600 in use for another 10 years. "We think that
QIPC provides the most modern solutions for our specific needs."
Second
life
A
press does not have to be new to function in accordance with the requirements
and standards of 2019. With the right measuring and control equipment, even
older presses can produce cost-effectively, consistently and reliably. It is in
this belief that Kroonpress is equipping their recently acquired Goss M600 heat
set press with new QIPC automation. "The automation that was still on the
press from the former user is no longer up to date and technical support is
limited," says Gerd Lindmaa, Production Director at Kroonpress. "New
systems like those from QIPC offer more speed and accuracy."
Existing
user
Kroonpress
has known for some time what QIPC's systems are capable of. Since 2013, the
automation of the company from Oosterhout has been used in Estonia. "We
are a satisfied user", continues Gerd Lindmaa. "We appreciate the
experiences of the existing cooperation with QIPC. We have found that QIPC
provides the most modern solutions for our specific needs." The visits to
the reference sites in Baarle-Nassau and Mouscron confirmed the positive
opinion of Kroonpress.
Heat
set press
The
specific need in this case is the automation of a heat set press. On the Goss
M600, 5 mRC-3D cameras for color register, cut-off register and sheeter-register
are installed and 2 IDS-3D cameras for color control. Gerd Lindmaa: "We
count on more stable print quality and less paper waste thanks to faster
start-ups. In general, we expect higher efficiency in the use of our raw
materials."
Long
term
The
result of the installation is a more modern, efficient and faster press for
Kroonpress that is ready for the next ten years. "We are intensifying our
cooperation now, because we are counting on QIPC to be a long-term
partner", says Gerd Lindmaa, "QIPC will continue to invest and
innovate, which will provide us with a system that will remain up-to-date in
the future". Erwin van Rossem (Director of Global Sales & Marketing
QIPC) is delighted about the near and longer future: "The fact that they
are choosing our systems again is the greatest sign of appreciation we can get.
We have the right solution for Kroonpress and are proud that we can continue to
deliver to them."
