Oosterhout, May 2017
– The Serbian printing
concern, Grafoprodukt, has decided to place a new order with the Dutch
specialist in optical measurement and control systems for the printing industry,
Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC). Grafoprodukt is to install QIPC’s mRC-3D
system for colour register and cut-off control on its Heidelberg Web 16
printing press. It’s not the first time the Serbian printers have come calling:
“The previous QIPC system we’ve been using for ten years on another press has
more than earned its spurs. We’re counting on the new system to give us the
same kind of performance.”
Positive
experiences
Grafoprodukt’s printing plant
is based in Novi Sad, in the north of Serbia. The company was founded in 1985
by Nebojsa Radjenovic and is currently run by his two sons. The business, which
has a workforce of 70 or so employees, prints mainly for the Serbian market,
both magazines as well as commercial print. It was back in 2007 that Grafoprodukt
ordered its first automation system from QIPC. “Our experiences of working with
QIPC have been more than positive,” says Grafoprodukt’s technical director
Goran Radjenovic when asked about the new order. “The previous system, on our
Solna C96 printing press, has more than earned its spurs over the last ten
years. Downtime has been kept to a minimum, for example. And because we work
with frequent production runs, we have managed to achieve enormous reductions
in waste. What’s more, the quality of the print has improved considerably.”
Same
performance
The performance of the
previous QIPC system convinced Grafoprodukt to place its trust once again in
the Netherlands-based company. “The level of satisfaction in the previous
system was a major reason for them to decide on upgrading their Heidelberg Web
16 press with our equipment,” explains Erwin van Rossem, head of sales at QIPC.
The mRC-3D system now being installed consists of two cameras for colour
register and one for cut-off control. “We’re counting on the same kind of
performance from the new system,” explains Goran Radjenovic. “And with larger
reductions in waste,” he adds.
Serbian
reference
Whereas the order of the mRC-3D
system offers Grafoprodukt the prospect of major reductions in waste and
improvements in printing quality, QIPC has bagged another key reference, this
time in Serbia. “This will help increase QIPC’s market share,” enthuses Erwin
van Rossem. “It’s great to hear that Grafoprodukt is so pleased with our system
and has decided to give us this boost in confidence. The performance our new
system gives and the service we offer will certainly repay this confidence.” As
far as the latter is concerned, Goran Radjenovic has no doubts whatsoever. “The
support staff at QIPC have always been extremely helpful. They are highly
flexible and only to happy to step in when needed. I’m confident that this will
be the case in the future too.”
