- Orders with two wellknown Indian printers
Amar Ujala in Noida and Kanpur, India
Chitralekha Printers and Publishers Pvt Ltd, Navi Mumbai, India
Amar Ujala in Noida and Kanpur, India
The Indian Amar Ujala newspaper publishing group increases its coldset newspaper presses, requiring additional mRC+ cameras. Q.I. Press Controls India received some considerable expansion orders
from Amar Ujala’s printers in Noida and Kanpur in view of additional
printing towers to be added to the current presses. This is a very
positive trend! After all, it means an increase in page scope for more
advertisers.
In Noida, the Orient 45000 X-Cel with four 4-high printing towers will
be expanded with a fifth printing tower. The same procedure applies to
Kanpur for the Orient 36000 X-Cel. A fifth printing tower will be added
there as well. Both presses had been equipped with IRS for full-colour
register control. Q.I. Press Controls will install additional mRC+
cameras on both presses in order to control the colour register of the
additional full-colour printing web on either side.
‘Amar Ujala’ is also the title of the regional newspaper printed in
Hindi. It is a leading newspaper in the regions of Chandigarh, Punjab,
Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh Uttarakhand
as well as New Delhi. ‘Amar Ujala’ was founded on 19 April 1948, in the
early period of Indian independence. The elevated objective such as
promoting social awareness and creating a sense of responsibility among
the population is still characteristic for this newspaper, which is read
by some thirty million people and which appears simultaneously in many
places. The latter is thanks to the modern communication between the
chief and subordinate editors and the network of the printing plants
located close to the reading centres. The spread of printing plants is
needed due to the Indian road network and its limitations. The
restrictions of the Indian road network also require additional
attention from manufacturers and suppliers in terms of the service they
provide. Mainly single-width/single-circumference) (2/1) coldset
web-offset presses are used. THP (The Printers House) is an important
supplier for this and is always represented at the Drupa exhibitions,
including 2012.
Chitralekha Printers and Publishers Pvt Ltd, Navi Mumbai, India
A reliable service and positive relations yielded Q.I. Press Controls a
great order for the delivery of mRC+ on Chitralekha’s heatset press; a
Manuline S16
Chitralekha’s heatset web-offset press had been running for a few years
when Q.I. Press Controls India was instructed to install an automatic
colour register system: a great order to equip that Manuline with mRC+
colour register technology for the perfecting register. Q.I. Press
Controls India was awarded this order as a previously installed register
system failed due to poor servicing. You must be able to implicitly
rely on manufacturing support for the colour register system, certainly
in a country such as India. Truth is that this specific service cannot
be provided by the local press manufacturers, yet is provided to the
client/users of the register system directly. Q.I. Press Controls never
loses sight of that direct provision of service. The more so since Q.I.
Press Controls is aware of the crucial importance of this to clients who
have to meet ever-increasing quality requirements on a daily basis.
