Oosterhout, October 2016
– Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC) has reeled in yet another key order in the
wake of the recent Drupa 2016. ACM SpA, the Italian-based printing company, has
decided to invest in the IDS-3D system for colour control and the mRC-3D
system for colour register and cut-off control. Initial contact between the two
parties was established at Drupa, the leading German trade fair for the
printing industry. In the words of ACM SpA: “Looking to the future, this
represents a fantastic investment and forms a solid basis for a strong
strategic partnership”.
The company, located in Torre
del Greco at the foot of Mount Vesuvius, wanted a new automation system for its
recently acquired KBA Compacta 618 press. “Prior to Drupa contact had been
pretty much non-existent, but we were introduced to each other via KBA at
Drupa”, explains Jaco Bleijenberg, QIPC's Director of International Sales &
Marketing. “At first, ACM SpA were interested only in closed-loop colour
control, but we managed to convince them of the benefits of a complete new
package with register and cut-off control.”
Serving diverse markets
Giuseppe Gentile, General
Manager at ACM SpA, explains why his company was so enamoured by the system.
“We needed the QIPC system because - working with our newly acquired press - it
would help us to access new markets. The QIPC systems mean we are in a much
better position to provide our clients with a finished product that is even
better in terms of quality.”
Accuracy
This Italian family-run
business is also keen to develop a partnership with one of the leading
companies in the field of automation for the print industry. “I think we're an
excellent match”, reports Giuseppe Gentile. “QIPC is known for its systems
worldwide and many large printing companies opt to use their products. In
general, our experience with Dutch suppliers is that they are both meticulous
and helpful in their business dealings.”
Strategic partnership
These are all aspects which
led up to ACM SpA plumping for QIPC. “We thought long and hard,” Giuseppe
Gentile goes on to say. “Ultimately, we saw QIPC as a young and dynamic company
with a forward-looking mentality just like our own. Looking to the future,
we're convinced this is a fantastic investment and forms a solid basis for a
strong strategic partnership”.
Confidence
In total, five mRC-3D
cameras for colour register and cut-off control and two IDS-3D cameras for
colour control will be installed. Giuseppe Gentile is in
no doubt about the potential of the two systems. “We're satisfied these systems
will operate to the very highest standards when it comes to colour and register
control. Not only does that help us and our staff, but also gives us the
confidence which we need when taking on difficult assignments.”
