Oosterhout, March 2021
– The printing plant of the Morocco-based newspaper Le Matin has decided to re-invest in the press automation solutions of Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC). This time the Dutch specialist in measuring and control equipment for the printing industry will supply IDS-3D closed loop colour control on the KBA Compacta 818 heatset press.
Les Imprimeries du Matin, part of the Le Matin Group, was experiencing changes in the market, which were made even more significant by current circumstances. “Covid-19 effects our daily life, habits and also our activity. The market has become harder, narrower and more demanding. To be more effective we needed to change our existing automated system,” explains Kamal el Alami, Executive Director of Les Imprimeries du Matin. “Our client experience with QIPC meets the highest standards and we are very satisfied with previous automation systems we bought from them,” he proceeds. All the more reason to expand their investment with QIPC’s IDS-3D closed loop colour control on the KBA Compacta 818. Additionally they invested in the management reporting tool IQM.
Les Imprimeries du Matin has been working with QIPC’s solutions for quite some years and with great satisfaction. “In 2016 and 2017 we respectively installed QIPC’s mRC-3D colour and cut-off register on our KBA Continent coldset press and our KBA Compacta 818 heatset press. These investments proved significant improvement in print quality and reduction of waste. In addition, the equipment is highly available with low maintenance cost.” Kamal el Alami continues: “We expect the same for the most recent investment in IDS-3D colour control. The IQM will provide us detailed reporting on maintenance and quality management.”
Erwin van Rossem, Director of Global Sales & Marketing of QIPC-EAE: “Since 2017 this is the third order Groupe le Matin is awarding us, the best way to express their level of satisfaction. This order also confirms the market movement in Africa, which is becoming more and more quality demanding. Together with our network of agents we are ready to meet increasing market demands.”
