The Washington Post plant located in Springfield VA just signed the order with Q.I. Press Controls to retrofit their Mitsubishi newspaper press configuration with closed loop register control.
“With Q.I. Press Controls’ solutions The Washington Post will be able to have consistently high print quality and waste savings. The latter is important as The Washington Post is committed to protecting the environment and carries this out in their complete operational management,” states Mr. Roddy MacPherson, Assistant Plant Manager.
Just after the summer Q.I. Press Controls will start to install a collection of 28 mRC+ colour register scanners and belonging peripheral hardware and software on the Mitsubishi’s. mRC+’s intelligent register control is based upon a very precise and accurate scanning of printed micromarks, hardly visible for readers’ eyes. That’s the gain for readers and advertisers: a colour quality improvement without any disturbance of visible cmyk-marks. The Washington Post also purchased Q.I. Press Controls’ management information system IQM. This is a web-based production analysis and reporting system that integrates a unique set of functions. It delivers real-time information about the production process and changes in product quality.
