- Rakesh Dave, managing
director of Q.I. Press Controls (QIPC), did not shy away from the big words
after winning a new order from Times of India. He spoke of "one of the
most important hits in India". The Dutch specialist in measuring and
control equipment for the printing industry is allowed to automate the
manroland REGIOMAN press in Bangalore of the leading Times of India group
again. QIPC also announces new orders from Malayala Manorama and The Printers
House.
Increasing market share
According to Rakesh Dave, the
Times of India order offers "golden opportunities" for QIPC.
"Within the Times of India group there are many manroland presses. Our
market share in India will increase again and everyone in the country can see
that the market is ready for our IDS-3D system. The IDS-3D system (16 cameras)
for closed-loop register control is supplied in Bangalore on a manroland
REGIOMAN press. In addition, the mRC-3D system (12 cameras) for cut-off
control is added. Times of India relies on this to solve an operational problem
it had, but above all to deliver consistently high quality print products. The
constant support of QIPC's high quality technical service is an added
advantage.
High impact
The fact that Times of India
has decided to reinvest in QIPC's systems is also proof of the group's
satisfaction with its previous cooperation. In fact, an IDS-3D colour control
system had already been installed at the Sahibabad printing works. "This
is one of the most important hits ever for QIPC in India," says Rakesh
Dave. "Most of the major newspaper groups are located in the south of the
country. This installation will have a major impact on all these groups.
Malayala Manorama
Besides Times of India,
Malayala Manorama and The Printers House also decided to invest in the
automation of QIPC. Malayala Manorama does this for its printing center in
Palakkad. An mRC-3D system for colour control (2 cameras) and cut-off
control (2 cameras) is installed. "We have been working with QIPC since
2011," says Shibu George, Senior General Manager at Malayala Manorama.
"Because of the intelligent and reliable systems, we have no doubts about
investing QIPC systems at other locations. QIPC is very bold and shows with its
excellent support and service that it is all about long-term relationships.
The Printers House
Finally, QIPC also provides
the colour register and cut-off check for a new The Printers House press. On a
TPH Orient press, 4 mRC-3D cameras for colour register and 2 mRC-3D
cameras for cut-off control will be installed. The Printers House thus
increases the productivity and accuracy of its presses. At the same time, the
degree of automation increases.
